The Wild Burro Bookstore opened it's doors on July 4th, 2001. (Independence Day!) It started as, and still is, primarily a book store specializing in quality fiction, supplemented by award winning and best selling non-fiction, regional books, children's books, cookbooks, science and nature...and whatever else looked interesting. In addition, a wide variety of bookmarks, notecards, journals and small gift items are always on hand. The store is more than just a retail establishment. Come on in anytime and meet Lucky Charm, my almost five year old Golden Retriever. She graces the front page of the store's monthly newsletter and keeps me entertained on quiet days. The Wild Burro is located in beautiful Hot Springs, South Dakota. The town is located where the Black Hills melt into the wide expanses of the prairie. The scenery is soothing, the wildlife is plentiful, the weather is generally delightful and the people are...well...quirky. I love it here.

Willow is the newcomer on the block. She's a bit of a devil dog, in spite of her Golden Retriever lineage. Take a look at any of the pens I foolishly leave lying on my desk when I head to the register to help customers! I love her to death though!
