I can't believe it's been over a year since I turned the key and locked the door of The Wild Burro Bookstore. It's been an interesting year. I returned to my accounting roots and now have a "day job." I spent quite a few months updating the Moon Handbook - and as you can see to the right there...the second edition is now out!
One of the most frustrating parts about writing a travel guide is that the day it is published ...there can be some major changes. So...I'm going to try and update those changes from time to time on the Moon Page of this website. Most of the change occurs in restaurants - new owners, closures, new restaurants- if you like food, the updates might be fun.
I'm hoping to spend more time on the road this summer - it's been awhile. When you own a retail/gift shop in the Black Hills you work...a lot! And while spending last summer updating the travel guide was fun...well a new job and lots of deadlines can be a little stressful. This summer - no deadlines and lots of weekends ahead.
My love affair with golden retrievers continues. I still miss my best friend and soul mate dog Lucky Charm (who was a pretty decent writer in her own right.) Willow, my little devil dog is still with us and we've added Maverick the Buddah dog and Molly the Big Red Dog. (She is not related to Clifford...I don't think.) Perhaps I'll give each of them a page of the website and see what they do with it.
